As part of a visioning and client pitch initiative, I collaborated with a Creative Director and Experience Lead to design a futuristic AI-powered Wealth Management platform. The goal was to demonstrate how emerging AI capabilities could transform wealth management experiences for high-net-worth individuals while showcasing innovative design thinking and product strategy.

The concept explored how AI could simplify complex financial decisions, provide personalized investment guidance, and create a more proactive wealth management experience.

My role focused on UX and product design, including prototyping, component creation, interaction design, and visual design.

The Challenge

We were provided with existing concepts and prototype flows inspired by financial services experiences, but the challenge was to evolve them into a truly AI-powered product that felt intelligent, proactive, and premium.

The experience needed to:

Demonstrate the value of AI within wealth management.
Feel personalized for high-net-worth customers.
Simplify complex investment decisions.
Create a seamless end-to-end investment journey.
Showcase innovative capabilities while maintaining trust and transparency.

The User Persona

To create a realistic investment journey, we designed the experience around Jill, a high-net-worth individual seeking personalized investment opportunities and long-term financial growth.

The Approach

To understand how AI could support wealth management, we started by mapping Jill's investment journey and identifying moments where users typically encounter friction, uncertainty, or information overload.
This helped ensure AI functionality was integrated throughout the experience rather than appearing as an isolated feature.

KEY OUTCOMES

How might AI simplify financial decision-making?
How can recommendations feel personalized and trustworthy?
What information should be surfaced proactively?
How can users maintain control while benefiting from AI support?

EXPERIENCE VISION

We positioned AI as an intelligent advisor that could:
Analyze financial goals and investment preferences.
Surface relevant investment opportunities.
Explain recommendations in simple language.
Offer personalized portfolio insights.
Support decision-making through conversational interactions.

The Prototype Design

My primary responsibility was transforming concepts into a polished interactive prototype that could effectively communicate the future vision.

CREATING A FUTURISTIC VISUAL LANGUAGE

To reinforce the platform's innovative nature, I established a premium visual direction inspired by next-generation financial experiences.

Key visual characteristics included:

Glassmorphism-inspired UI elements
Layered transparency effects
Modern dashboard layouts
Rich data visualizations
Dynamic AI interaction patterns
Clean and elegant information hierarchy

The visual language balanced innovation and trust, which is particularly important within financial products.

PROTOTYPE DEVELOPMENT

I built high-fidelity interactive prototypes in Figma that illustrated Jill's complete journey.

This included:

Designing reusable components
Building scalable UI patterns
Creating interactive flows
Connecting screens into a seamless experience
Demonstrating AI-powered interactions through realistic scenarios

The result was a compelling prototype that let stakeholders experience the concept's value rather than simply view static screens.

Features Designed

AI Advisor Chat - A conversational AI assistant that helps users explore investment opportunities aligned with their financial goals and risk appetite.

Portfolio Dashboard - A centralized view of portfolio performance, trends, risk exposure, and investment distribution.

Personalized Recommendations - AI-generated opportunities based on financial goals, historical investment behaviors, and portfolio composition.

These features were intentionally scoped to demonstrate value quickly while remaining flexible for future expansion.

Key Outcomes

Delivered a Future-State Vision - Successfully transformed existing concepts into a cohesive AI-powered wealth management experience that clearly communicated a future product direction.

Elevated Stakeholder Engagement - The concept illustrated multiple ways AI could support users throughout the investment lifecycle while maintaining transparency and user control.

Established a Premium Design Direction - The visual system and component library created a modern, innovative aesthetic that aligned with both wealth management expectations and emerging technology trends.

Improved Storytelling Through Prototyping - The end-to-end journey centered around Jill provided a relatable user story that helped stakeholders understand the practical benefits of AI-enhanced wealth management.

Results & Reflection

The concept was successfully presented to stakeholders and the pitch was accepted, validating the opportunity for AI to create more personalized and proactive wealth management experiences.

The project reinforced a key design principle: users don’t need more information; they need greater confidence in making decisions. By positioning AI as a transparent guide rather than a replacement for human judgment, we created an experience that balanced automation with trust and user control.

The interactive prototype brought the vision to life, demonstrating how AI could simplify complex financial information, surface relevant opportunities, and proactively identify risks while maintaining a premium customer experience.

This project strengthened my capabilities in AI experience design, vision based product design, financial services UX, high fidelity prototyping, design systems, and executive stakeholder storytelling.
